MotorSim 2 is a specialized performance calculator designed for land vehicles. Please note this application is not a driving game—it performs detailed physical simulations of vehicle acceleration in straight-line scenarios.
With MotorSim 2, you can configure various technical parameters and analyze the resulting performance metrics. The interactive simulator features a speedometer, RPM gauge, throttle and brake controls, and manual or automatic gear shifting. It generates engine sounds procedurally (not from samples) and displays vehicle position along a quarter-mile track. You can save performance data as a ghost car to compare different configurations side by side.
Configurable vehicle parameters include:
- Maximum Power Output
- Customizable Power Curve (definable point by point)
- Torque Curve (automatically derived from power and RPM)
- Maximum Engine RPM (ignition cutoff limit)
- Gear Configuration (supports up to 10 gears)
- Resistance Coefficients (drag coefficient, frontal area, rolling resistance)
- Total Vehicle Weight
- Tire Dimensions
- Gear Shift Timing
- Transmission Efficiency
Key calculated performance metrics include:
- Top Speed
- Acceleration Times (0-60, 0-100, 0-200, 0-300, etc.)
- Additional metrics measurable through the interactive simulator
