Le développement de Dragon Quest XII continue, le créateur Yuji Horii assurant aux fans que les informations seront révélées progressivement. Dans un récent livestream avec son groupe d'émissions de radio, Kosokoso Hōsō Kyoku, Horii a confirmé que l'équipe Square Enix travaille avec diligence sur le projet.

Cela marque la première mise à jour depuis mai 2024, après le passage des personnages clés Akira Toriyama et Koichi Sugiyama. Le départ du producteur principal Yu Miyake pour diriger la division des jeux mobiles de Square Enix avait également alimenté la spéculation.

Les préoccupations concernant l'annulation du jeu, au milieu de la restructuration de Square Enix et un manque de mises à jour, ont été abordées par la déclaration d'Horii. Ses commentaires suggèrent fortement que Dragon Quest XII reste activement en cours de développement.
