Once you've unlocked the Hideout in Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids, personalizing your space becomes a fun possibility. Adding pets and animals is a great way to make it feel truly your own. Here's how to bring some furry, feathered, or scaled friends into your Hideout.
Unlocking Animals in Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids
The key to unlocking Hideout animals lies in interaction. Whenever Naoe or Yasuke pets a cat or dog of a breed they haven't encountered before, that animal type is added to your collection. This includes various dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens—even the stray you rescue in the pre-order DLC quest, "Thrown to the Dogs."
Yasuke can also unlock small animals through his artistic pursuits. Painting rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys adds them to your potential Hideout residents.
Finally, you can purchase farm animals like oxen and goats from vendors across Japan for a certain amount of mon.
Adding Animals to Your Hideout

Head to the Hiroma and interact with the bench to access the Hideout customization menu. Enter build mode, then select the wolf icon on the far right. This reveals all your unlocked animals, categorized as dogs, cats, and "other."
Choose the animal you want, and you'll be taken to an overhead view of the Hideout. Select an empty grid space to place your new companion. While you can position them initially, remember they'll roam freely once you leave build mode.
You can add multiple instances of the same animal (except for the "Thrown to the Dogs" pup, which is unique). There's a limit to the total number of animals you can have, so plan your menagerie carefully. You can also remove or replace animals at any time using the build mode.
That's how to add animals to your Hideout in Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids. Enjoy your new companions!
Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
