How To Fix Marvel Rivals Compiling Shaders Slow on Launch

Authore: CarterUpdate:Jan 21,2025

Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing frustratingly long shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a solution to speed up the process and eliminate the "Out of VRAM memory" error.

Game launches, especially online titles, often involve various processes. However, Marvel Rivals players on PC are encountering extended shader compilation times, significantly delaying gameplay. Shaders are crucial programs managing visual elements like color and lighting in 3D environments. Incorrect shader installation can lead to various problems. While the issue isn't due to user error, a workaround exists.

A Marvel Rivals subreddit user, Recent-Smile-4946, provided an effective solution:

  1. Access your Nvidia Control Panel.
  2. Locate the global settings.
  3. Adjust the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. Note: Only 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB options are available; select the closest appropriate size.

This method significantly reduces shader compilation time, often to just a few seconds, and resolves the "Out of VRAM memory" error.

While a permanent fix from NetEase Games is pending, this temporary solution prevents extended wait times during game launch. Until an official patch arrives, this workaround is recommended.

Marvel Rivals is available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
