In a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz on May 27, François Meurisse—COO and Producer at Sandfall Interactive—shared insights into the studio’s upcoming plans.
“We will definitely be making another video game,” confirmed Meurisse. While details remain under wraps, the enthusiasm within the team is palpable. “I can’t wait to explore the ideas we already have for the next game,” he added.
Meurisse also reflected on the growth the studio has experienced over the course of developing Expedition 33. Many team members were newcomers when the project began, but now they’ve matured into seasoned developers. “We've learned to work together as a team,” he said. “Now we’re starting from a much stronger, more efficient position than we were five years ago. Of course, that brings higher expectations—but it also brings great ideas, especially from Guillaume.”
Whether this next project will be a sequel to Expedition 33 or an entirely new IP remains to be seen. Meanwhile, fans are still hopeful for a potential DLC. Earlier this month, Lead Writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen hinted positively about the possibility of expanding the Expedition 33 universe.
