Treyarch Unveils "The Tomb," a New Map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, in 115 Day Celebration
Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a flurry of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the highly anticipated reveal of a new map: The Tomb. This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises.
The star of the show is The Tomb, a desert-themed map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's Citadelle des Morts, adding another layer to the expanding Zombies universe.
Treyarch's narrative summary explains that following the events of Citadelle des Morts, Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya heed Gabriel Krafft's final instructions, leading them to an excavation site in search of the Sentinel Artifact. The catacombs, built upon ancient burial grounds dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed for centuries until the early 1900s, hinting at a deeper mystery.
The Tomb's gameplay is described as reminiscent of Liberty Falls, focusing on tighter spaces and high replayability through hidden Easter eggs. Further details are scarce, although a connection to a British archaeologist, Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe, is teased.
Season 2 also promises a revamped Wonder Weapon, drawing inspiration from previous iterations, and the return of a classic SMG.
Significant quality-of-life improvements are on the horizon, including community-requested features such as tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges across Zombies and Multiplayer. A co-op pause option for Zombies is added, allowing the party leader to pause mid-game. Separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer will be implemented, along with the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout if disconnected.
