Ninja Kiwi has released the latest version of Bloons TD 6, Update 52.0, featuring the highly anticipated Frontier Legends DLC. This massive update is an ideal way to wrap up the year, introducing new cosmetics, a brand-new Paragon monkey, and various balance adjustments.
Frontier Legends Expands Beyond Rogue Legends in Bloons TD 6
Ninja Kiwi describes this DLC as an Odyssey Quest spanning over 50 maps set within a vast 3D world. It features minigames, persistent currency, RPG-style Monkeys with prefix traits, and a semi-open environment. The update also introduces the Ice Monkey Paragon alongside a challenging new Expert map titled Tricky Tracks.
In Bloons TD 6’s Frontier Legends expansion, players take on the role of Sandytown sheriff. You begin by customizing your character using Hats, Torso Equipment, Weapons, Consumables, and a chosen pet companion.
The Saloon serves as the central hub for recruiting hired monkeys with randomized traits and unique names. Occasionally, a Legendary Recruit may make an appearance.
Frontier Legends adds six new specialized Bloon types to the roster, each accompanying new round sets. Dynamite Bloons deal area-of-effect damage upon explosion, Glass Bloons deflect bouncing projectiles, while Diamond Bloons withstand high-damage attacks. Aura Bloons boost nearby waves with intense farm output, and Retribution Bloons reflect damage back at attackers. Finally, Ringleader Bloons provide protection to those traveling near them.
All these elements culminate in a showdown against Diamondback, an exclusive multi-segment boss for the DLC upon launch. Inspired by Bloons Super Monkey 2, Diamondback utilizes mechanics related to Pierce, player-triggered debuffs, and skull-breaking timing windows.

Update 52.0 Features Beyond Frontier Legends --------------------------------------------The Herald of Everfrost, the new Ice Monkey Paragon, utilizes an Ice Lance Beam that freezes targets for ten seconds. It alternates this attack with a Snowstorm Roar, while its ultimate ability, Eclipse of Fimbulwinter, temporarily freezes everything on screen, including Boss Bloons.
