Survival of the Fittest is arguably Phasmophobia's most challenging weekly challenge to date, due to its severe limitations. As the name suggests, you must identify the ghost without traditional evidence or the sanity buffer to protect you.
This challenge takes place at 42 Edgefield Road, a claustrophobic house map. Its narrow hallways and blind corners significantly hinder ghost tracking and evasion.
Tips & Tricks To Complete Survival of the Fittest in Phasmophobia
Several key restrictions apply. You lack standard evidence-gathering tools; Ghost Writing Books, DOTs Projectors, and even Video Cameras are unavailable. Your equipment loadout is severely limited.
Ghost identification relies on behavioral analysis: movement speed, ghost model, and unique traits. Provided tools offer clues. The Parabolic Microphone detects Banshee screams or Myling sounds. You begin with zero sanity and no setup time (effectively five seconds), making you instantly vulnerable to hunts. Sanity cannot be restored, despite the two provided (and rather useless) Sanity Medications. Expect a high-pressure investigation.
Ghost activity remains high, with frequent events aiding identification. The ghost roams, but its favorite room remains constant. Most doors start ajar, hindering location detection, but the fuse box is functional and on—a rare advantage. All nine hiding spots are available.
The only Cursed Possession is the Monkey Paw. "Wishing for knowledge" eliminates incorrect ghost types and evidence from your Journal, but at the cost of temporary blindness, deafness, and a nearby Cursed Hunt. This strategy is best for groups, allowing one player to act as a sacrificial distraction.
How to Access Challenge Mode in Phasmophobia
Challenge Mode is accessed via the Main Menu's Difficulty Settings. Select Singleplayer or Multiplayer to create a lobby, then choose the Difficulty tab. Select Challenge Mode and "Apply." Remember to manually select 42 Edgefield Road on the Maps board. Complete the investigation three times for the full $5,000 reward (correct ghost identification is sufficient).

The Weekly Challenge resets at Midnight UTC on Monday. North American players can start the new challenge on Sunday evening:
