Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2

Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a significant challenge in Divinity: Original Sin 2. This guide details the methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests and storyline advancements.

Method 1: The Spirit Bridge

The remnants of the bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, offer a path. Using Spirit Vision reveals the broken sections. Several options exist for crossing:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: These allow repeated teleporting of party members across the gaps.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat enable individual teleporting. This is limited by party member skillsets.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: Two pyramids allow one character to cross using translocation, then the rest to warp to their location.

  4. Fast Travel: A character with a translocation skill can reach the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, enabling the rest of the party to fast travel there.

Method 2: The Undead Ferry

An undead ferryman northwest of Cloisterwood offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is treacherous:

  • With Fane: Only Fane, being undead and immune to Deathfog, survives the ferry trip. He can then activate the Bloodmoon Island waypoint for the rest of the party to use.

  • Without Fane: This requires at least two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying in the process), and the second pyramid is used to teleport the rest of the party to the deceased companion's location for resurrection. This method is significantly riskier.

Choosing Your Path

If Fane isn't in your party, the Spirit Bridge is generally the safer and quicker route to Bloodmoon Island. Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game; his Deathfog spell is deadly. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
