Master the Art of Dual Outfit Effects in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
While Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered prioritizes action gameplay, its weapon and outfit customization is substantial. You can create outfits ideal for stealth, melee, or ranged combat. This guide details how to combine the effects of multiple outfits, highlighting limitations.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Required
This dual-outfit method is exclusive to Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. A recent patch introduced transmog, enabling you to retain one outfit's stats and effects while visually wearing another.
Outfit Requirements
This technique isn't universal. One outfit is your choice; the second must be one of these:
- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
These outfits are located within the Frozen Wilds DLC, accessible without completing the main game.

Banuk Werak Runner
Defeat the new machine to access the expansion area. Locate a Bluegleam Merchant (blue merchant icon) and purchase the outfit.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
Complete the "For the Werak" quest (Frozen Wilds' third main quest) for the Chieftain outfit. Lowering the difficulty may help. The Adept version is acquired similarly, but only in NG+.
Combining Outfit Effects
- Equip your preferred outfit (with desired stats, potentially enhanced via Weaves).
- Use transmog to apply the appearance of one of the three Banuk Werak outfits.
This preserves your chosen outfit's stats while adding the auto-healing effect of the Banuk Werak outfit. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept offer faster healing than the Runner. Combining this with the Shield Weaver outfit creates a highly resilient character.
