Revamped Team-Up Skills

Marvel Rivals Season 2 Brings More Team-Up Skills and Skins

Game Director Guangyun Chen revealed in a March 14th interview with PC Gamer that Season 2 will introduce brand-new team-up skills and refine existing ones. This, combined with overall balance adjustments, promises a fresh and exciting combat experience. With 17 existing team-up skills—like Ragnarok Rebirth for Hela, Lunar Force for Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight, and Allied Agents for Hawkeye and Black Widow—rebalancing this growing roster will be a significant undertaking.

Hero Balancing: A Continuous Challenge

Maintaining balance as the Marvel Rivals roster expands is a top priority. Chen explained their approach: data from Quick Match and Competitive modes (win rates, pick rates, damage, healing, etc.) guides their balancing decisions. They also analyze team compositions and actively engage with the player community for feedback.

Chen previously stated (Metro interview, January) that a new hero would be introduced every half-season. With three-month seasons, that's eight new heroes annually! This ambitious growth necessitates a robust and ongoing balancing strategy. He confirmed that Season 2 content is ready, and Seasons 3 and 4 are in advanced development, showcasing NetEase's long-term commitment to Marvel Rivals (previously stated as a 10+ year project).

Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man Arrive March 20th

NetEase announced via the official Marvel Rivals Twitter (X) account on March 18th that two highly anticipated skins—Spider-Punk 2099 and Steam Power Iron Man—will drop on March 20th at 7 PM PDT / 10 PM EDT / March 21st at 2:00 AM UTC. Spider-Punk 2099 boasts a futuristic look with a digital mask, spiked mohawk, and electric guitar. Iron Man's Steam Power skin features a steampunk aesthetic, complete with large exhaust pipes and a fiery furnace on his chest. These skins were previously available during the closed beta and follow the recent release of Loki's Presidential attire (also a beta favorite). While the release date is set, pricing details remain under wraps.

With Season 1 winding down, NetEase is poised to deliver a significant update with Season 2. Marvel Rivals is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Stay tuned for more updates!
