Rust's Massive Update Introduces Enhanced Cooking and Farming Mechanics

Rust's highly anticipated Crafting Update has arrived, dramatically expanding the game's creative possibilities. A culinary workbench lets players grill chicken legs and even enjoy them with Siberian vodka! Recipes are required, and these well-cooked meals offer valuable stat boosts and gameplay modifiers.

Domesticating chickens is now possible with the addition of coops. These feathered friends will lay eggs and thrive, but require careful attention to their hunger, thirst, love, and sunlight needs. Neglecting these will lead to unfortunate consequences. Chicken meat spoils, highlighting the importance of refrigeration. Food items now display clear expiration timers.

Adding a touch of sweetness, wild beehives can be found in trees. Honeycomb extraction requires careful relocation to player-built hives crafted from wooden boxes. Beware! Bees are aggressive and require protective suits, water, or even flamethrowers to deter. A new weapon, the Bee Grenade (a jar of honey, naturally), unleashes three aggressive bee swarms—a sticky situation to avoid!

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, introducing separate tech trees for plumbing and electricity. This allows for the creation of automated systems and even entire factories! Finally, premium servers have launched, exclusively for players with a Rust inventory valued at a minimum of $15. This aims to create a more positive experience for dedicated players by filtering out cheaters and disruptive behavior.
