World of Warcraft Adding Recolors of Rare Mounts, But There\'s a Catch

Authore: EthanUpdate:Feb 28,2025

Two exclusive WoW mounts, the Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and the Golden Ashes of Al'ar, are coming to World of Warcraft China. These mounts, reimagined versions of the rare Pureblood Fire Hawk and Ashes of Al'ar, will be available starting January 15th through separate promotions.

The Blazing Royal Fire Hawk, reminiscent of its Pureblood counterpart, boasts auspicious clouds within its wings while in flight, a nod to Chinese symbolism. The Golden Ashes of Al'ar, a gilded version of the original, features a black saddle and evocative flavor text referencing Kael'thas Sunstrider's famous quote: "The golden Al'ar, beloved pet of Kael'thas Sunstrider, proves that death is merely a setback."

These mounts are obtainable through distinct promotional events: the Treasure Workshop for the Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and Landro’s Loot Box (costing approximately $27) for the Golden Ashes of Al'ar. The Loot Box offers a chance at other coveted items, including the X-51 Nether Rocket X-TREME and the Swift Spectral Tiger. Team purchases offer bonus crates.

Currently, there's no indication these mounts will be released internationally. For now, players outside China can only appreciate these visually striking additions to the WoW mount collection.
