Tentacle Tactics

Nu Udra presents a challenging fight due to its extensive reach, courtesy of its massive tentacles. While these pose a significant threat, they also offer melee fighters a prime target. Severing the arms yields valuable materials, but proceed with caution—these limbs pack a powerful punch.

Target the Mouth

Ranged weapon users have more options, but the mouth remains the optimal target, boasting a 4-star weakness. While harder to spot due to Nu Udra's dark coloration, it's worth the effort. The head offers a 3-star weakness to ammo damage, making it a viable alternative for blunt and cut damage.

Harness the Power of Watermoss

Nu Udra's fire affinity necessitates strategic use of Watermoss. Its fiery attacks, culminating in a self-immolation phase inflicting Fireblight, demand a countermeasure. Watermoss effectively neutralizes this threat, enabling safer attacks.

Embrace Fire Resistance

For increased survivability, equip fire-resistant gear. The Quematrice armor set, with its Fire Resistance skill, is highly recommended. Fire Res Jewels significantly reduce fire damage, while Stream Jewels boost water attack damage.

Evade the Grab Attack

Nu Udra's grab attack is particularly dangerous. If caught within its tentacles, it unleashes a fiery blast. Swiftly use a knife to escape, or utilize a Slinger to exploit its weak point during the brief pause.

To capture Nu Udra, prepare Pitfall or Shock Traps. Deploy them after significantly weakening the monster (indicated by a skull icon next to its health bar). Lure it into the trap using meat or by simply running behind it while it targets you. Immediately administer a Tranquilizer (you have approximately five seconds before it breaks free).

Mastering Nu Udra requires skill and strategy. Don't hesitate to utilize multiplayer for a more manageable challenge.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
