One of the most impressive budget gaming PC deals of the year has arrived early, beating the Black Friday rush. Walmart now offers the CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme Radeon RX 7800 XT gaming desktop for just $839, including free shipping. Released in late 2023, the Radeon RX 7800 XT goes head-to-head with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4070. It outperforms the RTX 5060 Ti in numerous titles, despite its lower price, making it an excellent choice for affordable 1440p gaming. This is especially notable since the entire system costs $160 less than the Xbox Ally X handheld. In fact, you could add a 27-inch 1440p gaming monitor and still spend around the same total amount.

The CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme features an AMD Ryzen 7 8700F processor, a GeForce RTX 5060 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 2TB M.2 solid-state drive. The Ryzen 7 8700F is a modest but capable CPU with a maximum boost clock of 5GHz and 8 cores (16 threads). It’s complemented by a generous 32GB of RAM and a spacious 2TB SSD. A pleasant surprise is the inclusion of newer DDR5 memory. While it may not deliver a dramatic performance boost, it does help future-proof the system as DDR4 is gradually phased out.
The AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT is ideal for 1440p gaming
The Radeon RX 7800 XT graphics card directly competes with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 4070. In raw rasterization performance, the two are quite close. However, the RTX 4070 leads in ray tracing and offers superior upscaling, thanks to Nvidia’s DLSS technology outperforming AMD’s FSR. When compared to more recent GPUs, the RX 7800 XT actually beats both the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti, even though PCs equipped with those cards tend to be more expensive. In practical terms, you can expect smooth gameplay in most titles at 1440p resolution and 60fps. In her late 2023 review, Jacqueline Thomas described it as "clearly the top graphics card in its class for the majority of users."
AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT Review by Jacqueline Thomas
"It's difficult to find a better graphics card in 2023 than the AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT. It arrives at a sensible price during a period of inflated GPU costs, delivering rasterization performance that exceeds expectations. Its ray tracing capabilities are a bit weaker, though that has never been AMD's main strength."
