Dynasty Warriors: Origins: A Guide to Gems and Pyroxene
Boost your character's power in Dynasty Warriors: Origins with Gems! These equippable items provide passive buffs, proving invaluable on higher difficulties. This guide details gem crafting, upgrading, and Pyroxene acquisition.
Crafting and Leveling Up Gems
Gem crafting utilizes Pyroxene and is accessible at any Inn or tent. In your room, select "Create Gems" (the second option). You can use Pyroxene to craft gems at a 1:1 ratio. Five unique gems are craftable, with each Pyroxene having a chance to yield any of them.
Crafted gems begin at level 1 and can be equipped via the Battle Preparations menu. Crafting duplicate gems grants experience (XP) to the base gem, increasing its potency with each level. For broad improvement, use all your Pyroxene at once.
For targeted gem acquisition, try crafting single gems. Occasionally, "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" activates, limiting the possible gem outcomes for subsequent Pyroxene use. This effect can be reset by exiting and re-entering the crafting menu. While tedious, crafting one gem at a time increases your chances of triggering "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" for your desired gem. Note that "Eyes of the Sacred Bird" reduces randomness but doesn't eliminate it.
Gem Name | Passive Boost |
---|---|
Oblivion Gem | Expands attack range. |
Vortex Gem | Boosts damage to airborne enemies. |
Scorch Gem | Boosts damage to parried enemies. |
Wellspring Gem | Restores health per 100 enemies defeated. |
Ascendance Gem | Chance to automatically block officer attacks. |
Acquiring Pyroxene
Pyroxene appears as orange crystals scattered throughout the overworld. Collecting a crystal yields one Pyroxene, after which the crystal disappears. Pyroxene respawns after completing skirmishes or battles, encouraging exploration of previously visited areas. Letters received in your Inn or tent room may also occasionally contain Pyroxene.
