Metro 2033's "Cursed" Mission: A Comprehensive Guide

Despite its age, Metro 2033 remains a fan favorite, enjoying renewed popularity thanks to Metro Awakening. This guide focuses on the challenging "Cursed" mission, often frustrating due to unclear objectives and confusing station layout. The mission begins after the anomaly clears the nosalis horde in the preceding mission.

Locating the Bomb

After Khan takes a railcar to the next station (Turgenevskaya), you'll find defenders near barricaded escalators. They'll explain that a demolition crew went missing while trying to collapse a tunnel to stop the nosalis. Your task: find and detonate the bomb. Expect constant nosalis attacks; retreat to the defenders for support if overwhelmed. The bomb is at the far end of the right-hand tunnel. Avoid the ghostly shadows – they'll damage Artyom. Retrieve the bomb and either proceed to the adjacent tunnel or retreat if needed.

Destroying the Tunnel

With the bomb, enter the left-hand tunnel (from the defenders' perspective). A cutscene will trigger; Artyom automatically plants and lights the fuse. Escape immediately to avoid the blast. Alternatively, a grenade or pipe bomb in the same area will also collapse the tunnel. Note: nosalises will still enter through other routes.

Destroying the Airlock

To secure the station completely, destroy the airlock. Climb the stairs to the right of the main platform (torchlit area). Ignore the nosalises. Interact with the support columns to plant a pipe bomb. Evacuate immediately after lighting the fuse. With both tunnel and airlock destroyed, proceed with Khan to the shrine room, then through the floor panel to start the "Armory" mission.
