Valve's back from the New Year break, and developers are rolling out updates across their game portfolio. Following the announcement of Deadlock's shift away from bi-weekly updates, we anticipated a substantial patch. However, Valve opted for a smaller, less intensive update to kick off the year.
This initial 2025 Deadlock patch focuses solely on balance adjustments for Yamato. His Shadow Transformation received a minor nerf, impacting damage scaling and initial attack speed bonus. Further tweaks reduced the effectiveness of Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

A more comprehensive patch is anticipated, though the timing remains uncertain. Predicting a release date at this stage is difficult.
It's noteworthy that Deadlock's player count has recently declined. While the reasons are speculative (possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals), a consistent player base of 7,000-19,000 remains respectable for a game still in deep beta. Remember, Valve has yet to reveal any release dates or details concerning the game's monetization strategy.
