Dragon Quest 3 Remake: Conquering Baramos's Lair – A Complete Guide
After securing the Six Orbs and hatching Ramia the Everbird, your journey culminates in Baramos's Lair. This challenging dungeon serves as the ultimate test before venturing into the underworld. This guide details navigating and conquering Baramos's Lair in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
Baramos, the primary antagonist in the game's first half, resides within this formidable dungeon. Access is granted only after obtaining Ramia, who transports you to the lair's valley. Aim for a party level of at least 20 before tackling this challenge. The lair holds valuable items, detailed in the sections below.
Reaching Baramos's Lair
Following the Maw of the Necrogond and acquiring the Silver Orb, Ramia becomes available. Fly from either the Shrine of the Everbird or the Necrogond Shrine to the island north of the Necrogond Shrine, nestled amidst mountains – Baramos's Lair's location. Ramia will deposit you near the entrance.
Navigating Baramos's Lair
Unlike typical dungeons, Baramos's Lair involves traversing indoor and outdoor areas to reach Baramos. The main outdoor area, "Surroundings," serves as a central hub. The following outlines the path to the boss:
Main Path to Baramos:
- Upon entering from the overworld, bypass the main entrance. Instead, circumnavigate the castle's eastern side towards the northeastern pool.
- Ascend the stairs to the pool, then turn left (west) to another stairwell. Proceed up and find a door to the right.
- Enter the Eastern Tower, reach the top, and exit.
- Traverse the castle roof southwestward, descend, continue west, and pass through the gaps in the northwest double wall. Use the northwest stairwell.
- The stairs lead to the Central Tower. Navigate to the southwest stairs, using Safe Passage across electrified panels. Descend to B1 Passageway A.
- In B1 Passageway A, turn east and proceed to the easternmost stairs.
- Enter the South-East Tower. Head northeast to the stairs, ascend to the roof, then head west and descend again. Cross the grass northwest and enter the only door.
- This leads to a small section in the Central Tower's northeast corner with a single exit.
- You'll reappear in B1 Passageway B. Proceed north to the stairs.
- Enter the Throne Room, exit south, avoiding floor panels.
- From the Surroundings map, locate the Throne Room (northwest). Head east to the northeast structure on the lake island – Baramos's Den, the boss arena.
