FragPunk, a new 5v5 multiplayer first-person shooter, has launched on PC, receiving a mixed 67% rating on Steam based on initial player reviews. The game's unique selling point is its innovative use of fragment-cards. These dynamically alter gameplay mid-match, creating unpredictable and varied combat experiences. Developers describe the cards as combinable, counteracting each other, and adding a significant layer of tactical depth to the core FPS mechanics.
Players can select from 13 distinct launchers, each possessing unique abilities, catering to both collaborative and solo playstyles. FragPunk allows players to showcase individual skill in online matches.
However, Bad Guitar, the studio behind FragPunk, has announced a delay for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions. Initially scheduled for a March 6th release across all platforms, unforeseen technical issues forced a postponement just two days prior to launch. A new release date remains unconfirmed, but the developers assure players of ongoing updates.
