Marvel Rivals players will start getting banned on consoles for using the keyboard and mouse

NetEase Games has announced a ban on keyboard and mouse adapters in Marvel Rivals on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. The use of adapters like XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse, is considered a violation of the game's terms of service. This is due to the unfair advantage provided by increased control precision and aiming assist retention.

NetEase's statement clarifies that these adapters create an uneven playing field, particularly in competitive modes. The company employs advanced detection technology to identify adapter usage, resulting in account suspensions upon detection.

Separately, the game has been experiencing issues where higher FPS correlates with increased ping. While this might be less noticeable with already high ping, a jump from, for example, 90ms to 150ms significantly impacts gameplay. This appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings, with some suggesting maintaining around 90 FPS as a temporary solution, despite this seeming counterintuitive to players accustomed to higher FPS in other games.
