Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind MindsEye, has recently unveiled a new trailer for the game, set the price at an attractive $59.99, and detailed the expansive content players can expect at launch. Led by industry veteran Leslie Benzies, formerly of Rockstar North, the studio has confirmed that MindsEye will launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X and S, as well as PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The game is set in the near-futuristic city of Redrock, where players assume the role of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier grappling with fragmented memories from his mysterious MindsEye neural implant. As Diaz, players will unravel a gripping conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate greed, an unchecked military, and a dire threat to humanity's survival. The narrative is enhanced by state-of-the-art visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5, promising an immersive experience.

A particularly intriguing feature for PC players is the game's exclusive game creation system. This allows players to craft their own experiences using MindsEye assets, adding a layer of creativity and personalization to the gameplay.

Priced at $59.99, MindsEye offers a "refreshing departure from the standard $70~$80 AAA price tag," as stated by the studio. For this price, players get a "tightly crafted linear story campaign," "single-player free roam," and a variety of missions. These include a horde mode mission named "Destruction Site Shootout," and two combat missions, "Honor Amongst Thieves" and "Friendly Fire." Additionally, there are six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races available at launch. Those opting for the premium pass will receive an additional horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack.

The pricing of video games remains a hot topic in the industry, with major players like Nintendo and Microsoft moving towards $80 price points for their latest titles. In contrast, mid-range games priced at $50, such as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the upcoming Mafia: The Old Country, have seen significant success. MindsEye positions itself as a valuable option between these extremes.

Looking beyond the launch, Build A Rocket Boy has committed to providing a "constant stream" of fresh premium content monthly. This will include new missions, challenges, and game assets, ensuring that MindsEye remains a "living, ever-expanding player experience." The studio aims to blend its own high-quality content with the community's creative contributions, promising a dynamic and evolving game world that will continue to engage players for years to come.

The 2025 roadmap for MindsEye includes community updates and new missions in the summer, new single-player modes, multiplayer, and additional missions in the fall, and free roam updates along with new missions in the winter. Premium pass owners will enjoy extra missions and new packs throughout the year, enhancing their gaming experience further.
