Star Wars fans eager to dive into the first episodes of the new animated series, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, will need to head to Fortnite for an exclusive early viewing. Epic Games has announced that the initial two episodes of this much-anticipated spinoff will premiere within Fortnite, marking a unique launch before the series hits Disney+.
This move is part of Epic's broader strategy to enhance its Star Wars content offerings during the upcoming Galactic Battle season, which promises a plethora of Star Wars-themed rewards and experiences. Starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2, fans can watch the premiere featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island, two days ahead of its Disney+ release. Epic encourages players to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, offering a First Order Stormtrooper outfit as a reward, with hints of more benefits to follow.
“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” said Epic Games President Adam Sussman. He emphasized the innovative approach to storytelling within Fortnite using one of the world's most beloved franchises, promising more exciting developments.
The exclusive viewing window on the Star Wars Watch Party island will last until May 11, and besides the series, it will also host a Battle Arena where players can engage in lightsaber battles against waves of enemies. Viewers who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series, animated in the style of The Clone Wars, focusing on the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The series promises intriguing developments for Ventress, as she encounters a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane confronts his past.
Disney's collaboration with Fortnite extends beyond this season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, signaling a long-term partnership that will bring more Star Wars, Marvel, and Pixar outfits to the game. The next season will feature highlights such as Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.
Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has continued to dominate the space, maintaining its prominence through various collaborations, including a recent crossover with Sabrina Carpenter that saw players putting down the pickaxes and putting on their dancing shoes.
