Each Abductor in Freedom Wars Remastered displays a health bar on its torso. Players utilize various weapons and items to deplete this health and secure victory. The game features diverse damage types, each with unique effects. While Light Melee weapons often sever body parts, Impact Damage serves a similar strategic role.
Mastering Impact Damage significantly improves Abductor takedown speed. This guide explains Impact Damage mechanics and its effective application in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What is Impact Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage is primarily found on Heavy Melee weapons and certain Ranged Weapons. While a percentage is displayed alongside the Impact Damage value, this doesn't directly increase your total damage output. Instead, it's non-elemental damage that enhances the power of your standard attacks, accelerating the Abductor's stagger rate. A full stagger meter causes the Abductor to stagger, providing a critical window for significant damage before recovery.
Unlike the visible health bar, the stagger meter is hidden. Staggering can occur at any point once the rate surpasses a threshold. This presents both advantages and disadvantages. Offline play allows for charged attacks and maximized damage. However, in online play, staggering might hinder teammates' attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react by moving backward, potentially complicating precise attacks during this period.
Boosting Stagger Damage in Freedom Wars Remastered
Increasing Stagger Damage requires unlocking the Weapon Development Facility. This facility enables weapon crafting and customization. Use the Manufacture Modules feature to create modules using gathered resources. The Stagger Damage Up Module requires Glassy Carbon, a common field resource in Basic Operations. Multiple identical modules can be combined using the Synthesise Modules feature to enhance their effectiveness. Attaching the crafted module to a weapon boosts its Impact Damage, improving staggering capabilities.
Because Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental ones maximizes staggering efficiency. Modules like Stagger Damage Up are particularly beneficial for users of heavy melee weapons or ranged weapons with inherent stagger-building potential.
