Recent insider reports suggest that Xbox's upcoming action-adventure title, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, is planned for a PS5 release in early 2025. Following its debut on Xbox Series X/S and PC, industry figure Nate the Hate, known for accurate Microsoft multi-platform leaks, claims the game will be a timed console exclusive for Xbox during the 2024 holiday season, with a PlayStation 5 version expected in the first half of 2025.
"MachineGames' Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will launch on Xbox and PC this December as a timed console exclusive. Once this exclusivity period ends, the game is slated to arrive on PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025," the insider posted on X (formerly Twitter).
These claims have been supported by Insider Gaming, which reported that several media outlets received similar information under non-disclosure agreements.
Microsoft May Extend Major Xbox Titles to PlayStation
Speculation about Microsoft's stance on platform exclusivity has been growing. Earlier this year, The Verge reported that Bethesda and Microsoft were considering bringing major titles like Indiana Jones and Starfield to additional platforms. Although Microsoft acquired Bethesda with exclusivity in mind, recent moves indicate a shift toward releasing flagship games on competing consoles like the PlayStation 5.
Other Xbox titles, including Sea of Thieves, Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, and Grounded, have already made their way to rival platforms as part of the "Xbox Everywhere" strategy. Reports indicate there is no strict policy preventing future first-party Xbox games from launching on PlayStation systems.
Fans can anticipate more news about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle during Gamescom's Opening Night Live on August 20. Hosted by Geoff Keighley, the event will showcase the game and potentially reveal its official release date, alongside other major titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Civilization VII, Marvel Rivals, and Dune: Awakening.
