Overcooked Reality TV Show Greenlit

Holy pizza! An Overcooked reality TV show is finally in the works.

Deadline broke the news today, announcing that Netflix and A24 are partnering to produce the series. This marks A24’s first foray into reality television.

The unscripted format is said to take cues from shows like Nailed It! and Floor Is Lava, pitting contestants against kitchen challenges bursting with the same joyful chaos as the Overcooked video game. Think cooking meals in the back of two speeding trucks—or similarly wild scenarios.

The project is still in early development and will be produced by Gemma Langford, Oli De-Vine, and Phil Duncan, all from Ghost Town Games, the studio behind the original game.

Overcooked debuted in 2016 as a cooperative cooking game for up to four players. Teams work together to fill orders while navigating increasingly bizarre kitchen obstacles. We awarded it an 8.4/10 in our 2017 Nintendo Switch review, calling it “one of the freshest couch co-op games” that masterfully blends strategy and chaos.

The All You Can Eat edition, which bundles Overcooked and Overcooked 2 with all DLC and online play, launched in 2021.
