Hades 2's "Olympic Update" Ascends with New Content!

Supergiant Games has unleashed the first major update for Hades 2, titled "The Olympic Update," introducing a plethora of exciting additions to the already robust roguelike action-adventure title. This substantial update significantly expands the game's world, combat, and characters.

A New Realm Awaits: Mount Olympus

The centerpiece of this update is the introduction of Mount Olympus, a breathtaking new region to explore. Players will face new challenges and uncover expanded story elements within this mythical location, the home of the Greek gods.

New Weapons, Allies, and Companions

The update also brings a powerful new weapon, the Xinth, the Black Coat – a Nocturnal Arm – for players to master. Two new allies are available to forge bonds with, adding depth to the narrative and gameplay. Players can also bond with two fresh animal companions, offering new strategic options.

Enhanced Gameplay and Combat

The Olympic Update doesn't just add content; it refines the existing experience. Melinoe, a key character, receives a significant upgrade to her dash ability, making it faster and more responsive. Her special attacks have also been reworked for improved fluidity. Enemies have also received adjustments, enhancing the challenge and pacing of combat encounters. Specific changes include modifications to Chronos, Eris, Infernal Beast, Polyphemus, Charybdis, and Headmistress Hecate, along with general improvements to ranged enemy attacks.

Cosmetic and Technical Improvements

Beyond the core gameplay additions, the update includes a Crossroads Renewal, unlocking numerous cosmetic items to personalize the player's experience. A new World Map presentation improves navigation between regions. Finally, Mac users with Apple M1 chips or later can now enjoy native support for Hades 2.

The Olympic Update marks a significant step forward for Hades 2, adding substantial content and refining existing mechanics.
