Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone's Season 4 Reloaded update dropped today, packing in new game modes, weaponry, and a wealth of additional content. The update has been highly anticipated, particularly the addition of Zombie content to Modern Warfare 3.
Recent weeks have been exciting for Call of Duty enthusiasts. The highly-anticipated Season 4 update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone arrived earlier this month, closely followed by the full reveal of the next franchise installment at the Xbox Games Showcase. While fans await Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward are delivering substantial changes to Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone.
Activision's blog post detailed the Season 4 Reloaded patch notes. Two new weapons—the Reclaimer 18 Shotgun and the Sledgehammer melee weapon—are introduced, alongside JAK Volkh and JAK Gunslinger aftermarket parts. A new Mutation mode eliminates ground loot Tactical and Lethal equipment, requiring players to collect DNA for perks. Modern Warfare 3 Zombies gains the Unstable Rifts feature, a wave-based combat challenge rewarding insured weapon and schematic cooldown resets.
This patch significantly alters the Season 4 meta. The recently added Kar98k, previously outperforming the popular MORS sniper rifle, has received substantial nerfs to its maximum damage range and bullet velocity. Adjustments have also been made to controller aim assist.
Conversely, several weapons dominant in previous seasons receive buffs. Popular Warzone SMGs like the FJX Horus, Striker, and Rival-9 see improvements, along with the MTZ 762, MCW, Holger 556, and MTZ 556 rifles. The introduction of new weapons adds another layer of complexity to gameplay following this mid-season update.
