CDPR acknowledged weak gameplay in The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.

In a recent interview, Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay. He highlighted combat and monster hunting as key areas demanding significant upgrades.

"We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience," he stated.

Kalemba emphasized that the Witcher 4 trailer should showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster encounters, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.

Witcher 4 promises a major combat overhaul. CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of previous Witcher games' combat and is committed to addressing them, improvements likely to carry over into future installments featuring Ciri as the protagonist of a new trilogy.

Interestingly, the developers also plan to include Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest was intended for Novigrad. The storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage. Geralt assists with wedding preparations, tasks including monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift.
