Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Risk and Reward

Haunted Mirror in PhasmophobiaThe Haunted Mirror stands out among Phasmophobia's Cursed Objects. Its benefits significantly outweigh the risks, making it a valuable asset during investigations. This guide details its use and the associated risks.

The Mirror's primary function is to reveal the ghost's current preferred room. A panoramic view of the room is displayed in the mirror's reflection, allowing for quicker ghost location and strategic equipment placement. This is particularly helpful in expediting the investigation and minimizing dangerous encounters.

Location is key. The Haunted Mirror consistently spawns in the same location on each map, though its appearance itself is random. You might find it hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor.

To activate the mirror, simply pick it up and interact with it using your designated button (mouse or controller). However, prolonged use comes with consequences. Staring into the mirror depletes sanity, and holding it for the entire duration triggers a Cursed Hunt at your location. Therefore, use it wisely when your sanity is high and you're prepared for the visual information. On Professional difficulty and above, remember the ghost's location can change over time.

Cursed Possessions, or "Cursed Objects," are unique, randomly spawning items in Phasmophobia. Their appearance can be influenced by difficulty and Challenge Mode settings.

Unlike standard equipment, which aids in ghost detection and evidence gathering with minimal risk, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts but at a considerable cost to your character's sanity and safety. The risk level varies between objects, allowing for strategic choices. There's no penalty for choosing not to use them. Note that only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless adjusted in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
