Honkai Star Rail Unveils Character Selector in V3.1 Leak

Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 Leak Hints at Free 4-Star Character Selector

A recent leak suggests Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.1 will include a free 4-star character selector, potentially as part of a limited-time event. This selector would allow players to choose one of four characters: Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta.

This news comes as Honkai: Star Rail's 3.0 update approaches, introducing new gameplay features and characters. While the game boasts 23 4-star characters, many have been outclassed by newer units. However, some remain valuable, particularly with higher Eidolon levels. Past updates offered similar free selectors, aiding players in strengthening their 4-star rosters.

The leak, originating from prominent leaker HomDGCat, indicates the selector will feature Qingque (Quantum, Erudition), Pela (Ice, Nihility), Serval (Lightning, Erudition), and Asta (Fire, Harmony). Interestingly, all are from the game's 1.0 cycle, and Asta is even an early-game acquisition.

This leak further supports speculation that future Honkai: Star Rail releases may primarily focus on 5-star characters. The game currently has nearly 40 5-star units, significantly outnumbering the 4-star options. With eight more 5-star characters anticipated in the Amphoreus update, and a potential addition of two more from the Fate/Stay Night crossover, the disparity is likely to widen.

The 2.0 cycle only introduced four new 4-star characters (including March 7th's alternate form), raising concerns about future 4-star selector content. However, the upcoming Version 3.0 update brings highly anticipated characters like The Herta and Aglaea. To assist players in preparing for these additions, Honkai: Star Rail recently released redeem codes for Stellar Jades and materials. The upcoming 4-star selector, if accurate, provides a valuable opportunity to bolster teams before the influx of new 5-star characters.
