Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved

Insomniac Games' Ted Price reveals a missed opportunity: Resistance 4. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price, retiring after 30 years at the studio, disclosed that a Resistance 4 pitch was developed but ultimately shelved due to "timing and market opportunity."

PlayDespite the setback, Price expressed the team's enthusiasm for continuing the Resistance storyline. He highlighted the series' compelling alternate history setting, ripe with potential for exploring the Chimera's origins and future adventures.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of PlayStation 3 first-person shooters, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the Resistance trilogy, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the acclaimed Marvel's Spider-Man series and newer Ratchet & Clank installments.

Price's retirement announcement earlier this year paved the way for Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang to assume the roles of Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's recent release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and their next project is the highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine.
