Switch 2 Pricing: Japan vs. Global

The Nintendo Switch 2 will come in two distinct versions: a Japanese-language system and a Multi-Language System. In contrast, the Multi-Language System version, which will be sold worldwide, is set at a higher price of $449.99—a difference of over $100. If you're in Japan and prefer the Multi-Language System, you'll still have the option to purchase it. However, the Japanese-language version will be exclusive to Japan, accessible only to Nintendo Accounts registered in Japan. This version will support only the Japanese language and will be limited to software available on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

To participate in the My Nintendo Store lottery, you'll need to meet specific criteria:

• By February 28, 2025, you must have logged at least 50 hours of playtime on Nintendo Switch software (excluding demo and free software).
• At the time of your application, you must have been subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online for a cumulative period of at least one year and remain an active subscriber.
