The latest *Fields of Mistria* update introduces a delightful new event: the annual Animal Festival! This fun town celebration gives your hard-working farm animals a chance to shine. Ready to participate? This guide covers everything you need to know.
Like other seasonal events, the Animal Festival is an annual occurrence. Miss it this year? No worries, it returns next winter! The festival kicks off on the 10th day of Winter, giving you plenty of time to prepare your animals for their big moment.
Winning the Animal Festival
The main event lets you enter up to two animals – one small (chickens, ducks, rabbits, etc.) and one large (cows, alpacas, sheep, etc.). Remember, only fully grown adults are eligible.
Entering the Contest
- Head to the festival grounds in town and speak to Josephine at the registration counter.
- She'll direct you to two booths: one for large animals (Terithia) and one for small animals (Landen).
- Choose your best animals from the menus provided at each booth.
- Return to Josephine and tell her you’re ready for judging.
Josephine offers two key tips for a high score: Animals with more hearts (increased through petting, feeding, and outdoor time) and rare coat colors will boost your chances of winning.
Prizes
A cutscene reveals the winners for both small and large animal categories. Winning against Hayden’s Henrietta (chicken) and Sunshine (cow) earns you top honors! Your prizes depend on your placement. First-place wins in your first year might be challenging, requiring significant time investment in animal care and farm upgrades to unlock rare animals and coat colors.
Consistent care and farm upgrades significantly improve your chances of winning the gold crown in future years.
