Mistria's Essence Stones: Finding & Crafting Guide

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are essential for several new features, making them a vital resource for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and utilizing Essence Stones of various sizes.

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While initially discovered on Floor 60 while seeking offering items for the Fire Seal, chests appear on various levels and biomes. Beware of mimic enemies—they look like chests but will attack if interacted with.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If hunting for stones proves challenging, consider crafting them at the Stone Refinery.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery, a new addition introduced in the March 2025 update, allows Essence Stone crafting. This structure is built as part of a new story quest within the mines. After completing the prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To construct the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

200 Wood
400 Stone
5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of various sizes using Stone and Essence. The required quantities vary depending on the stone's size (see table below). Beyond Essence Stones, the refinery also crafts common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable crafting hub.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced auto-petting and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This statue is found in a hidden cave near Errol's house (requires Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can be crafted.

The sprinkler mechanic, unlocked with the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius when powered by an Essence Stone. This statue, and its crafting scroll, are located on an island east of the beach (requires Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can also be crafted.

Future updates from NPC Studio will likely expand the uses of Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria.
