Unlocking the True Shu Ending in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
To access the hidden true ending for Liu Bei's Shu faction in Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you must first complete the main Shu campaign. This unlocks the ability to replay stages, revealing a special challenge. Look for a gold banner next to "The Battle of Changban" – this signifies an alternate path to victory.
Normally, this stage requires escorting Liu Bei to safety while Zhang Fei defends the bridge. However, for the true ending, you must defeat Cao Cao directly. This is a significant challenge, as you'll be largely alone against a massive army.
To improve your odds, consider these strategies:
- Reduce Difficulty: Lowering the difficulty to "Historian" mode significantly eases the encounter. The sheer number of enemies makes this a necessary adjustment for most players.
- Strategic Partner: Choose Zhang Fei as your partner. This places you closer to Cao Cao's forces, saving valuable time.
- Musou Meter Management: Ensure your Musou Rage meter is full before engaging Cao Cao's main force. You'll need it to overcome his Grand Tactics (defeating two officers and 250 soldiers). A weapon like twin pikes is highly effective against large numbers of soldiers.
Once Cao Cao is defeated, a few additional missions remain before the Shu true ending is revealed.
