Shift Up, the developer behind the popular action game Stellar Blade, has unveiled its roadmap for future updates. Riding high on its successful launch and strong player engagement, Shift Up is addressing player feedback and planning significant content additions. The developer is prioritizing performance improvements and quality-of-life enhancements, alongside new features eagerly anticipated by the community.
A recent presentation by Shift Up CFO Ahn Jae-woo detailed the upcoming additions. Photo Mode is slated for an August release, followed by new character skins sometime after October. A major collaboration, speculated by Forbes' Paul Tassi to be with the Nier series given the shared creative connections, is planned for the end of 2024.
Stellar Blade Update Roadmap:
- Photo Mode: Approximately August
- New Skins: Available after October
- Major Collaboration: End of 2024
- Sequel in Development; Paid DLC Under Consideration
Beyond the immediate updates, Shift Up confirmed ongoing work on the PC version of Stellar Blade. Ahn Jae-woo expressed confidence in the game's performance, citing sales exceeding one million copies and drawing parallels to successful titles like Ghost of Tsushima and Detroit: Become Human, which achieved significantly higher sales figures. The company views the one million sales milestone as a remarkable achievement for a new IP.
While a sequel is confirmed and paid DLC is being considered, Shift Up is currently prioritizing the roadmap's immediate goals. Further details regarding these long-term plans will be shared at a later date. However, the current roadmap offers fans plenty to anticipate in the coming months.
