Ruins Where Shadows Roam Quest Guide
This quest differs from standard Wuthering Waves missions. Rather than initiating through NPC interaction, players must access it via the Exploration Progress menu for Penitent's End region in Rinascita. Access this by opening your map and selecting the compass icon in the upper-left corner, adjacent to your current location's name.
The Ruins Where Shadows Roam quest runs parallel to Quest of Faith, an optional mission requiring players to defeat four specific enemies across Penitent's End. To begin, travel to the Resonance Beacon beyond Wailing Ascent's broken bridge, then interact with the prompt near the circular arena. This triggers a battle against a Questless Knight similar to those encountered in the Silver Moon? Crimson Moon? quest.
Successfully defeating these knights requires strategic positioning near illuminated Macabre Torches within the arena. Players can relight extinguished torches by manipulating Fae Ignis enemies to attack them. Exercise caution with powerful abilities near torches to prevent unintentionally extinguishing them.
How to Unlock Nightmare Crownless in WuWa
After completing both Ruins Where Shadows Roam and Quest of Faith, players must locate all four Dream Patrols scattered across Penitent's End. While completing these challenges isn't mandatory for progression, they provide valuable resources and Monnaie currency. The map image above marks all Dream Patrol locations.
Upon discovering all patrols, Nightmare Crownless becomes visible on your map, residing in the northern ruins of Penitent's End. Note that Nightmare Echoes consume Enhanced Absorption charges, which substantially improve Echo drop rates. With only 15 weekly charges available, players should manage their usage carefully when planning to optimize multiple characters.
