2XKO Roster Announcement and Project Vision
Teemo Arrives with Early Access Launch
2XKO will introduce the nimble Yordle scout, Teemo, coinciding with the game's early access launch. Riot Games revealed on September 30 via social media that Teemo, the leader of the Bandle Scouts, arrives on October 7, 2025, expanding the playable roster to 10 characters.
Teemo's announcement featured a gameplay reveal trailer, highlighting the beloved Yordle's skills and abilities. His combat mechanics echo his trap-based playstyle from League of Legends, notorious for being both feared and frustrating within the LoL community.
This includes placing mushrooms across the stage, spawning and hiding within bushes, and firing poisonous darts. The trailer concludes with 2XKO's homage to the legendary "Evo Moment 37," famously known as the "Daigo Parry."

The Daigo Parry was an iconic moment at EVO 2004, where professional player Daigo Umehara executed an improbable comeback against Justin Wong in the Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike tournament. On the verge of defeat, Umehara performed successive parries against Wong's Super Art, creating an opening to secure victory.
In Teemo's gameplay trailer, the fearless Bandle Scout similarly parries his way to success, countering the Super Attacks of Vi and Jinx. The video features a lobby filled with users cosplaying as Teemo, cheering his victory—a direct nod to the crowd's reaction during the original Daigo Parry.
Riot Addresses 2XKO Character Speculation

While the community celebrated Teemo's gameplay reveal, some fans expressed concern that a character glimpsed in the video might indicate future exclusion from 2XKO. Several players spotted a familiar silhouette in the shadows of a new stage featured in the trailer, closely resembling another Yordle champion.
Based on its appearance, fans identified the figure as Kennen, the ninja who patrols the spirit realm. His cameo as a background character led to speculation that he might not become a playable fighter in 2XKO.
These rumors spread rapidly online, prompting a response from Lead Champion Designer Alex "Blinkity" Jaffe. On September 29, Jaffe replied to a fan's tweet suggesting Kennen was the first "deconfirmed" champion due to his background role.
The lead designer clarified, stating, "No champ is ever deconfirmed - truly!," directly dispelling the rumor. When another fan asked if this meant Kennen was planned for the game, he simply replied, "lol nope."

Given the small stature of Yordles, fans had questioned how developers would integrate them into the fighting game, or if they would be included at all. Teemo's confirmation paves the way for other Yordles and champions of various sizes to potentially join Riot's fighter.
Despite 2XKO's modest starting roster, invited Closed Beta participants have played extensively, eagerly awaiting the early access launch and final release. At Game8, we believe 2XKO demonstrates strong fundamentals for a quality fighting game through its presentation and features. For our detailed impressions from the Closed Beta, read our article below!
