AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Officially Confirmed

Authore: LeoUpdate:May 21,2025

AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, following the success of the RX 9070 XT from March. Unfortunately, details about this new mid-range graphics card remain scarce. The RX 9060 XT boasts 32 Compute Units and comes equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 memory, making it well-suited for 1080p gaming. Given its smaller size, it's expected to consume significantly less power than its predecessor, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging from 150-182W. Although it has half the Compute Units and consumes roughly half the power of the RX 9070 XT, it's anticipated to be less powerful but potentially more budget-friendly. AMD has yet to disclose any pricing or release date information for this upcoming GPU.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

While it's frustrating that AMD hasn't revealed the price of the Radeon RX 9060 XT, it's likely to be competitively priced, similar to the Intel Arc B580 and the recently launched RTX 5060. These competing GPUs have power budgets of 145W and 190W, respectively, and were introduced at a price point of around $250-$300. AMD is expected to target the same market segment.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT finally hits the market, gamers looking for a graphics card in the $300 range will have three options from different manufacturers. If the RX 9060 XT remains within this price bracket, it will stand out with its 16GB of VRAM, compared to the 8GB from Nvidia and 12GB from Intel. This larger frame buffer could give the RX 9060 XT a longevity advantage as games increasingly demand more video memory.

I'll need to test it in the lab to assess its actual performance, but if it matches up well against the competition, its enhanced VRAM could make it a future-proof choice for budget-conscious gamers. The final pricing of the RX 9060 XT remains a mystery, but it's certainly one to keep an eye on in the budget GPU market.
