Andor Star Demands Battlefront 3 as Game Gains Popularity

Renewed demands for a new Star Wars Battlefront game have gained momentum with support from Andor actor Muhannad Ben Amor.

The past month witnessed a remarkable resurgence for 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2, achieving its highest Steam player count in years despite developer DICE ending official support long ago.

Ben Amor, who portrays rebel hero Wilmon Paak in Andor, joined the fan campaign on social media, calling for a proper sequel to the beloved franchise.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," Amor stated on Instagram (via Comicbook), sharing his impressive 469-hour playtime in Battlefront 2. "Been playing since launch day - I'm an original veteran. Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes reality."

The recent surge in Battlefront 2's popularity coincides with Andor's acclaimed season finale and Star Wars' annual May 4th festivities. After maintaining a modest 2,000-player average on Steam for years, the game now approaches its all-time peak of 10,000 concurrent players.

Does this renewed interest signal impending development of Battlefront 3? Currently, DICE remains focused on delivering its next major Battlefield installment, which enters player testing ahead of a projected summer reveal.

While EA no longer holds exclusive Star Wars gaming rights, Respawn Entertainment continues developing the franchise with an upcoming third Jedi title.

DICE may still hesitate revisiting the franchise after Battlefront 2's controversial loot box launch, though public perception has since improved dramatically. As IGN noted in their 2019 re-review: "Star Wars Battlefront 2's redemption rivals the Skywalker saga itself, now standing as one of the most thrilling authentic Star Wars gaming experiences available."
