Assassin's Creed Shadows: A More Manageable Adventure?
Creative director Jonathan Dumont has shed light on the anticipated playtime for Assassin's Creed Shadows. He estimates completing the main story will take approximately 30-40 hours, with an additional 30-40 hours needed to fully explore all optional content, totaling around 80 hours. This information comes from a recent interview with journalist Genki.
Dumont previously compared Shadows to previous titles like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. However, due to the significant differences in playtime across those games, this comparison proved less helpful. Acknowledging the inherent difficulty in estimating playtime for open-world games, Dumont clarified that Shadows' scope is more akin to Origins. According to How Long To Beat, Origins' main story clocks in around 30 hours, while completionists might spend over 80 hours.

For players concerned about excessive playtime, Shadows appears to offer a more balanced experience. Valhalla, in contrast, faced criticism for its lengthy 60-hour main story and potential for a staggering 150-hour playthrough. If Dumont's estimations are accurate, Shadows provides a more concise yet fulfilling adventure.
Mark your calendars! Assassin's Creed Shadows launches on March 20th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
