Every Assassin's Creed Game Tier List

Ubisoft's latest stealth-action open-world adventure, Assassin's Creed Shadows, has arrived! But how does it stack up against the extensive Assassin's Creed saga? We're putting it to you, the community, to decide. With over 30 games in the franchise, we're focusing solely on the mainline entries for this ranking, excluding mobile titles, spin-offs like Bloodlines and Liberation, and other non-core experiences.

The journey began in 2007 with Desmond Miles and Altaïr. Now, 18 years later, Assassin's Creed Shadows transports us to 16th-century Japan, where players embody Naoe and Yasuke. This latest chapter marks the 14th core entry in the series. I've created a personal tier list based purely on my own enjoyment, using IGN's Tier List system. Check it out:

Simon Cardy's Assassin's Creed Tier List

For me, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag remains a personal favorite. The blend of island exploration, naval combat, and vibrant characters creates, in my opinion, the quintessential Assassin's Creed experience. It shares the S-tier with Assassin's Creed II, the game that truly propelled the series into the mainstream. Valhalla also earns a spot in the A-tier—a choice that might surprise some—but I thoroughly enjoyed its Viking-inspired combat and the addictive Orlog minigame. Unity, with its breathtaking recreation of revolutionary-era Paris, remains visually stunning even a decade later.
