The Battle Of Polytopia Buffs The Aquarion Tribe, Making Them Thalassic Superstars!

Midjiwan has unleashed a massive update for The Battle of Polytopia, completely overhauling the Aquarion Tribe. This significant rework revitalizes the game's first special tribe, originally introduced in 2017.

Aquarion's Aquatic Transformation

The Aquarion receive a dramatic visual and functional upgrade. Land units now sport mermaid tails, making them amphibious warriors equally at home in water and (though slower) on land. This update introduces flooded terrain, allowing land and naval units to occupy the same space for the first time.

Buildings have also adapted to their aquatic environment. Construction now extends to water, with Lost Cities nestled within deep-sea ruins, forming ideal aquatic bases. A new structure, the Atoll, connects water cities, eliminating the need for roads. The update also permanently adds Aqua Crops, functioning similarly to land-based crops.

New aquatic units join the fray, adding strategic depth. Sharks ambush opponents, Puffers provide long-range bombardment, and Jellies deliver electric shocks. Returning favorites, the Tridentions and Crabs, also see improvements; Crabs now flood the tiles they traverse, synergizing perfectly with the new mermaid units. See it in action:

Midjiwan's update breathes fresh life into the Aquarion, offering a compelling new playstyle. Note that Lost Cities now appear at level 3 and include an initial wall.
