Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 Stress Test Underway: A Massive Update on the Horizon
Larian Studios has initiated a stress test for the highly anticipated Patch 8 of Baldur's Gate 3. This significant update requires thorough testing before its official release.
Stress Test Update 1 Addresses Key Issues
A first update to the Patch 8 stress test build is now available, addressing various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. This includes improvements to item handling within inventories and enhanced functionality for Steam Deck users in Photo Mode. Cross-play improvements and tooltip adjustments are also included. Patch 8: A Major Content Update
Considered one of the final major content updates before Larian concludes their work on Faerûn, Patch 8 is substantial. Key features include:
- Cross-platform play: Enabling seamless multiplayer across different platforms.
- Over 12 new subclasses: Adding significant depth to character builds, including the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter.
- Highly anticipated Photo Mode: Offering extensive customization options.
Photo Mode: Unleash Your Inner Photographer
A dedicated video showcases the extensive capabilities of the new Photo Mode. Access it virtually anywhere – during exploration, combat, or even in multiplayer (for the host). Precise character posing, camera freedom, and post-processing effects (filters, stickers, frames) provide unparalleled creative control. While dialogue and cutscenes restrict pose manipulation, post-processing remains available. Further tutorials are planned to unlock even more creative potential.
Only players participating in the stress test can currently access these improvements. The full release of Patch 8 will bring these features to all players.
