Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl Actress Michelle Trachtenberg Dies Aged 39

Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has passed away at the age of 39, according to reports.

Law enforcement sources indicate no suspicion of foul play surrounds Trachtenberg's death. ABC News reported that her mother discovered her deceased in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle on Wednesday. The report suggests that Trachtenberg recently underwent a liver transplant and may have experienced subsequent complications.

ABC News further stated that the death is believed to be from natural causes, with an autopsy pending to officially determine the cause and manner of death.

Trachtenberg's career began at age nine with a role in the Nickelodeon series The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Her film debut followed in 1996's Harriet the Spy. She achieved widespread recognition for her portrayal of Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2000-2003), and later starred in films such as EuroTrip (2004) and Ice Princess (2005).

More recently, Trachtenberg gained further fame for her role as Georgina Sparks in the popular television series Gossip Girl (2007-2012), reprising the character in the HBO Max sequel.
