Firaxis Games Unveils Post-Launch Roadmap for Civilization VII
Firaxis Games showcased its post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap outlines substantial updates planned for 2025, including several DLC packs and free content updates.
Paid DLC will arrive in two parts, collectively known as the Crossroads of the World Collection. Part one, launching in early March, features Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two, releasing in late March, includes Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. Free content updates, including new Natural Wonder events and wonders (Battle event and Bermuda Triangle in early March; Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest in late March), are also slated for March.
Further paid content, the Right Rule Collection, is scheduled for release this summer, adding two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned for April through September. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates for all announced content remain unconfirmed.
A developer diary blog post expands on these plans, promising additions such as multiplayer team support, larger multiplayer lobbies, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be released as soon as feasible, according to the developers. The diary also highlights upcoming bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.
The livestream also provided a detailed look at Civilization VII's multiplayer systems, showcasing diverse victory strategies. A Q&A session addressed community questions.
Sid Meier’s Civilization VII launches on February 11th for PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Early access for the Deluxe Edition begins February 6th.
