The mobile strategy tower defense game, Code Geass: Lost Stories, is ending its global run. While the Japanese version will continue, the global servers will shut down on August 29th, 2024. This means players will no longer be able to access their accounts after that date, and official social media channels will also close.
Developed by f4samurai and DMM Games, and published by Komoe, the game, based on the popular Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion franchise, launched globally in September 2023. Its short lifespan is attributed to low download numbers and less-than-stellar global reviews. Many licensed anime gacha games struggle to maintain a player base outside of Japan, where player spending tends to be higher.
Beginning immediately, in-app purchases and new downloads are disabled. Despite its brief global existence, the game maintains a dedicated following in Japan, where it remains available on the Google Play Store.
