Unlocking "Under the Straw Hat" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: A Comprehensive Guide
Several quests in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 require reaching Kuttenberg before initiation. Once there, inter-regional travel opens up. This guide details completing the "Under the Straw Hat" side quest.
Prerequisites: "Under the Straw Hat" is unlocked via "In Vino Veritas." In Kuttenberg, speak with Casper Rudolf (west side of town) offering free wine samples. He needs information to improve his wine.
You can either directly impress Havel with wine knowledge or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta for more information. If approaching Havel directly, wear fine clothes, be clean, and select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" for his questions. Report your findings to Casper.
Accessing the Vineyard:
Casper instructs you to infiltrate the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to investigate incense mentioned by Havel. Avoid trespassing; use the main road. Speak to the recruiter; this triggers "Under the Straw Hat." Continue to find Jerome. Inform him of your assignment. He'll explain vineyard work.
Vineyard Work and Incense Acquisition:
Work begins the following day. You can either perform tasks (moving sacks, picking thistles) for payment or directly obtain the secret incense. The incense is in the cellar (main building, downstairs). Access requires lockpicking or stealing Jerome's keys (risk of punishment if caught).
Locate the chest in the cellar; take the Sulphur Wicks (main objective). Optionally, gather five seedlings for Casper (increased reward, but requires quick trespassing). Return to Casper with the wicks and (optionally) seedlings.
Completing these actions finishes "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." Proceed to other quests, such as "Master Schindel's Toys."
