Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a restructuring initiative resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows financial challenges faced by the company.
Simultaneously, Crytek announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made during Q3 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
While Crytek explored reassigning staff to existing projects, this proved infeasible despite cost-cutting measures. The company stated that layoffs were ultimately unavoidable. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career support.

Crytek's future plans center on expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis title is indefinitely delayed. The studio remains positive about its long-term prospects and its continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
